Pokhara is situated at an altitude of around 800 meters, which is 400 meters lower than Kathmandu. Thus, the autumn and winter temperatures are more favorable. The summer temperatures average between 25 to 35 degree Celcius and the winter temperatures average around 5 to 15 degree Celcius. The valley also receives the highest amount of rainfall in the country (over 4000 millimeters per year).
